Weight loss into hypertrophy training

If you missed the short version of this on the home page, my name is Quincey Risden. I was born in Michigan but moved for more job opportunities after my E-Sports carrier unexpectedly ended. I jumped from job to job until I found something fulfilling; being a swim coach at Tom Dolan’s (Olympic swimmer) swim school and was trained by his swim coach. This wasn’t enough for me. Though fulfilling, swim coaching wasn’t what I wanted to do long term. During Covid, I was undecided between programming and fitness for a long term career, so I chose to attend Harvard University for computer science, programming, and nutrition. I quickly learned, I hate coding. Thus, I launched my fitness career. After years of studying, training, and coaching, I later decided it was time to move back to my home state for multiple reasons, one of which was my first child.

My little princess

Why so many physical restarts?

Over the years, I’ve gone through financial ups and downs that made it hard to commit. The biggest setbacks were the multiple family deaths I dealt with over the years.

Why isn’t there any client photos?

As I was new to working for myself, I didn’t have in-depth contracts, leading to many clients forgetting or declining before and after photos. Of the photos I do have, they either have a set amount of time I was allowed to use them for self promotion, or consent was withdrawn after some time passed.

What keeps me from giving up?

After finding out coding wasnt for me, I found out my grandpa’s health was slowly declining. In order to take care of him and myself, I decided fitness would be my career path. One month out from when I planned to move back to Michigan to take care of him, he passed in his sleep. After months of grieving, I told myself I would dedicate my life to personal training to help others improve their health. By giving them a foundation for healthy life, they could in turn get more time with their family and friends.
